Simon PERUSIN

Head of Metallic Materials Department

Simon PERUSIN, PhD, is Head of Metallic Materials Department at the IRT (Technology Research Institute) Saint-Exupery since 2015. He manages a team composed of twenty engineers and researchers in the fields of thermomechanical processing of metallic alloys, physical metallurgy, durability of materials and structures, modeling and simulation. His team plays an essential role in the maturity increase of powder bed and direct energy deposition processes for industrial applications in aerospace. Design to manufacture rules, process windows for conventional and under-development alloys, fatigue resistance improvement, longterm aging resistance, architectured and functionally graded materials are examples of research topics covered by his team. Before 2015, Simon PERUSIN has been worked in aerospace and nuclear industries for ten years as metallic materials expert.
