Dr. Philipp IMGRUND

Head of AM Process Qualification Department

Dr. Philipp Imgrund studied materials science at the Technical University of Clausthal, Germany, and received his PhD in Production Engineering from the University of Bremen, Germany, in 2007. He started his career as a project manager and later on as group leader at Fraunhofer IFAM in the field of metal injection molding, with a specialization in medical technologies. In 2014, he joined company OBE MIMPlus as R&D project manager, where he was involved in several projects related to sinter based additive manufacturing. Since 2017, he is Head of the AM Process Qualification Department at the Fraunhofer Institution for Additive Manufacturing Technologies. The department’s focus is the development of resource-efficient, productive, and economically viable processes in L-PBF, DED, Sinter Based AM and Polymer AM technologies.
